A pair of 50-day-old conjoined twins were successfully separated at Jiangxi Children’s Hospital in east China’s Nanchang city on February 28. The two baby boys were born to an 18-year-old mother. They were joined at the chest and liver, and weighed a combined 2.1 kilograms. After surgery the twins have been placed in intensive care, and are currently in a stable condition. They are expected to be released from hospital within one or two weeks.
