Things are really happening ooh! A teacher in a private school, Edet Umoren, in Esugbo, Itamerin near Ijebu-Ife, Ogun State, on Thursday, allegedly beheaded a 10-year-old pupil, Precious Adedeji, over unpaid salaries. The news which was shared on Facebook by a certain Adams Ezekiel, claims that the suspect killed the victim who was a pupil of Favour Nursery and Primary School because her grandfather, Pastor Joseph Olitoye, who is the proprietor of the school, owed him N8, 000 which was salaries for the months January and February.
It’s understood that Umoren, who also doubles as treasurer of the school proprietor’s church, severed off the right hand of Precious after seizing and dragging her into a nearby bush, a day after her birthday. He had forcefully taken her away while she was returning to the school from where they had gone to buy biscuit with her friend, Patricia. Luckily for the victim’s friend, she managed to escape and ran back to the school premises to inform the proprietor of the attack by Umoren. It’s learnt that the proprietor had explained Umoren to be patient and that he would be paid by the end of the week.
According to the proprietor, Umoren had allegedly stolen over N250,000 from the church’s fund. Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested at about 5am on Friday and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation.
