Truthfully, if you watch the foreigners and I mean those outside of Africa, you will observe their pets such as cats, dogs etc have a place in their family. Infact, these pets are members of the family and are even protected as if they are humans. There have been cases of people even choosing their beloved pets over partners.
Now, a heartbreaking photo is currently doing the rounds on social media and it shows a Houston police officer comforting his dying patrol horse. It’s understood that the horse named Charlotte, 4, was spooked, then she bucked the officer and ran into the street where an incoming truck ran her over. The policeman identified as Officer Herrejon, was spotted down on the floor with his arms wrapped around Charlotte during her final moments. The horse eventually died.
The photo has since gone viral after after it was posted to the Houston-based Animal Justice League’s Facebook page. A part of the caption reads:
“We admire the heart & strength of this officer because as you know, when you lose an animal, to be with them during their last breath is a heartbreaking & tough thing to do.”
Even the Houston Police Department posted photos of the horse, Charlotte, as tribute. In part, it read:
“She loved her job and was always ready to go to work putting bad guys in jail or giving nuzzles to children.”
