There have been some rumors spreading that the standards of the Chinese products have dropped low, thus people started to keep themselves away from the goods with a very solid reason. There are fake, and cheap products which are sold from many online sites. The products lack quality and can also contain prohibited substances. The list will provide you with the 10 most substandard products from China about which you have to think twice before purchasing.
Imitation eggs – there have been some Chinese web sites which have instructional videos showing how to make $70 daily by producing and selling fake eggs. You will need chemicals like alginic acid, potassium alum, gelatin, calcium chloride, water and artificial color, the eggshells are made out of calcium carbonate, and if you eat them they may cause memory-loss and dementia.
Chinese garlic – there is tainted garlic found in China which is being sprayed with chemicals more than sufficiently, leaving bad aftertaste due to the chemical concoction. 31% of the garlic which is being sold in the USA is from China.
Chicken – a lot of food safety experts are worried about the quality of the chicken which was affirmed for sale from China. China is a country where avian influenza and food-borne illnesses are often. Also, China produces a lot of pesticides and is polluted by mass production and industry as well.
Making beef out of pork – pork is less expensive in China and for that reason restaurants have been selling it instead of beef, before performing some chemistry on it, a beef extract and a glazing agent to “marinate” the meat in 90 minutes. This meat can cause low poisoning, deformity and even cancer if consumed on long-term.
Green peas – they have been manufactured with snow peas, soy beans and green dye, sodium metabisulfate (chemical used as bleach and preservative). The dye is forbidden to be used on products as it can cause cancer and can inhibit the body’s natural ability to absorb calcium. These green peas do not soften when boiled and the water turns into green.
Baby formula – there were 47 people accused of producing fake instant baby formula in 2004 which caused dozens of children to die in Fuyang, China. The formula contained nutrients which are made out of chalk, causing the children develop a big head disease that makes their heads swell and rest of their bodies slowly deteriorate.
Chinese apple juice – completely avoid it as it is full of pesticides and other chemicals which are not good for your health.
Tilapia fish – this is the most commonly farmed fish in China and it is one of the worst and most toxic fish that you can stumble upon. It will eat anything, just like the bottom-feeder fish. Fish-farming is a small pool of waste where the fish live in.
Fake sweet potato noodles – there is a facility in Zhigshan city in China which produced at least 5.5 tons of fake noodles. They were accused in 2011 that the noodles tasted strange, thus a further investigation revealed that they were made of corn with industrial milk used to give them purple color, as well as paraffin wax.
Mod sold as black pepper – there is a market vendor in China’s Guangdong Province which gathered local mud, selling it as black pepper, while their white pepper was mainly made out of flour.
