It has been revealed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has begun the evolvement of a new strategy for effective monitoring of corps members in their places of primary assignments with a view to prevent sharp practices.
Daily Sun reports that the new strategy was aimed at enhancing corps members’ inspection and monitoring as well as empowering field officers in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Abuja.
The field officers are expected to be trained on how they would deploy Information and Communication Technology in achieving error-free attendance and clearance system.
Public Relations Officer of NYSC in Oyo State, Mr. Simeon Bankole, said the Director General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Sule Kazaure, would be in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to address officers of the scheme in the South-west on Thursday March 2, 2017, at a training workshop.
Kazaure, who is expected to chair the opening of the workshop, would speak on the theme: Enshrining Transparency in Corps Monitoring and Participation in Community Development Services Using ICT.
Bankole stated that all the zonal and local government inspectors of the scheme in the South-west geo-political zone of the country are expected to attend the workshop.
He stated further that the workshop was organised to reposition the scheme for optimal performance.
