While many churches seem to be more conservative on issues of marriage and love, some Nigerian Pentecostal churches are encouraging people to start relationships and get married in various ways.
Below are some of those churches:
1. Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries
One of such churches is the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), which recently organized a ‘Singles Summit’ for Nigerians searching for a mate. The program took place at its vast Prayer City complex, opposite an amusement park off the Lagos to Ibadan expressway. Thousands of people began to arrived at the MFM programme to listen to a sermon on how to find true love and hot tips on how to avoid “dating devils”. The summit is titled ‘Gen218’ which is named after the Bible verse in Genesis where God says: “It is not good that the man should be alone” before making Eve.
2. Kingsway International Christian Centre

MFM is not the only church offering singles summits. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), held his own event earlier last month, teaching from his bestselling book “Don’t Date Devils”. In his teaching, he included advice about the realities of married life. He and other pastors also give divine guidelines are prescribed such as abstaining from intercourse until marriage, and there’s a lot of praise.
3. Family Booster Ministry
Bisi and Yomi Adewale of the Family Booster Ministry, a husband and wife team also held an event with the theme “12 Relationships You Must Avoid At All Cost”.
