A 54-year-old husband Tuesday night poured a substance suspected to be acid on the wife, Maame Abena Safoah, 45, at their matrimonial home in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana -leading to her death.
Maame Safoah suffered burns to her entire body as a result of the sheer quantity of the acid. Also destroyed were her beddings and floor carpet. Her husband, Agya Kwaku, alias ‘School Boy’ has been on the run since after committing the heinous crime.
The couple had had a protracted misunderstanding over their inability to have children in their about two decades old union.
School Boy’s attempt to burn the entire house to cover up his action was thwarted by some Good Samaritans who managed to put out the fire.
Family sources explained that due to the long drawn out misunderstanding, the deceased and husband lived in separate rooms in the same house which belonged to the husband.
