A 90-meter-high building was blown up in split second in an explosive demolition done right next to an ancient city wall in Datong, northwest China’s Shanxi, on August 8, 2016. The dust floating the sky was foregrounded by the time-frozen ancient city wall, making a spectacle.
It is reported that the position of the demolished building was in conflict with a cultural heritage renovation and protection project. The local government thus took the step to take it down.
