A man has suffered terrible burns on his body after he was scalded by his wife of 15 years for eating omena (fried fish) without permission. The man identified as Ezekiel Ingutu allegedly consumed the fish which was meant to be the night’s ugali stew to be eaten by the entire family.
He revealed that it was his children who told on him to his wife Jackline Muchela who was angered by the act and burnt him with hot water
According to the Nation, the incident at Gikomba Estate in Kaptembwa, Nakuru County left the man seriously burnt on his belly “She had stepped out and when she came in, one of the children reported to her that I had fed on the omena meant for dinner and she immediately poured hot water on my stomach.
The water was meant for preparing ugali,” Ingutu is quoted by Nation.
But Jackline who had detained her husband after badly scalding him defended her action saying the man had become irresponsible and all that he did best was to come home dead drunk.
Neighbours rescued the 42-year-old man and took him to a hospital for treatment.
