A woman who’s been having an eight-year affair with a married man has said that she’ll never end the relationship. The 54-year-old woman, Kimberley Hogben revealed she has succumbed to life as “the other woman”.
The former catering assistant from Dover refuses to break off her relationship — and has even rehearsed what she will say to her lover’s wife if she ever found out.
According to TheSun, she says: “I love John* and he loves me. We spend a lot of time together and are very romantic.
“But every evening he goes home to his wife — and I’m all right with that. There are times I’d rather have him but I understand. “He’s married and he made that commitment to his wife, so is going to honour that by staying with her. But I make him happy, so I don’t feel bad.
“I know it’s me he really loves, not her, and I’m proud of that. “It’s not a situation I’d get myself into again. But I’m in love and don’t want to break things off, so I don’t see why I should.”
Kimberley feels no guilt towards John’s wife of more than 40 years.
She says: “I never thought I’d be a mistress. I believe in monogamy but our circumstances are unique.”
The pair met at a pub karaoke night eight years ago.
Kimberley knows what she would say to John’s wife if confronted. She adds: “I’d tell her their marriage is over and he loves me, then advise her to get a divorce.
“I want a serious relationship but when I think about it, I’m used to being on my own. John says I’m only with him until I find someone else, and when that happens he’ll be sad for him but happy for me.
“But how can I find someone else when I love him?”
